Library

Welcome to the Library

The Saint Isabella School library is a very special place for our students. With its cheerful decor, vibrant displays of books that span all genres, ample natural light, cozy reading seats, large tables for study or project collaboration and even a giant mascot dog, the library is designed to encourage both a love of reading and learning.

Ms. Frannie, as affectionately called by her students, oversees each grade level once a week. Kindergarten through second grade enjoy a fun storytime experience and are taught the responsibilities of checking out a book. Third through fifth grade students have a more significant amount of independent reading and an extended range of age appropriate books to select from. Lastly, the middle school students may use their library time as a study hall to study for tests, work on class projects, and/or assignments. Screen use is discouraged as the library is intended to be a screen-free zone without the distractions of modern technology. Ms. Frannie also works directly with students who love the library and want to earn service hours. Students help design displays, cover, and shelve books. The library also hosts monthly Birthday Book Club and Faith Family meetings, and showcases creative works of student-made art, and middle school science projects. Ms. Frannie encourages students to use their imagination, learn by doing, and of course, learn by reading.

What truly sets apart Saint Isabella School’s library is its commitment to fostering a love for reading and learning. The dedicated librarian, Francis Teixeira, is an enthusiastic guide eager to connect students with stories that inspire, educate, and empower. She often visits bookstores and researches books online to ensure the library is always well stocked with popular best sellers for all reading and grade levels. Her two daughters, Jenna and Frankie, attended Saint Isabella School kindergarten-eighth grade, and they both share fond memories of time spent in the library.
