6th Grade Math Curriculum: The 6th grade math curriculum is based on Mathematics: Concepts and Skills and focuses on Standards for Mathematical Practice and Common Core State Standards (CCSS). Students use and strengthen their critical thinking and problem solving skills for all concepts. They learn fundamental skills for solving equations involving one variable with integers, fractions and decimals. Students learn how to build and solve proportions, ratios, equations and to think statistically.
7th Grade Math Curriculum: - The 7th grade math curriculum is based on California Pre-Algebra and focuses on the Standards for Mathematical Practice and Common Core State Standards (CCSS). Students use critical thinking and problem solving skills for all concepts and study linear equations and relationships. Their growing fundamental skills enable them to solve multi-step linear equations with integers, fractions and decimals. Students learn to apply scale proportions, graphs, solve and understand equations, enhance their understanding of geometric figures and use statistical thinking.
8th Grade Math Curriculum: - The 8th grade math curriculum uses Algebra 1: Concepts and Skills and is focused on the Standards for Mathematical Practice and Common Core State Standards (CCSS). Students strengthen their understanding of systems equations and their relationships. They use their growing fundamental skills to solve multi-step equations with two variables with irrational and rational numbers, integers, fractions and decimals. Students learn to graph linear and nonlinear equations and inequalities, solve and understand translations and rotations enhancing their understanding of geometric figures on a plane, and apply these methods to real life scenarios.
