Kindergarten Math Curriculum: Students learn through the McGraw Hill Math program, which is aligned with the Common Core Math Standards for Kindergarten.
st Grade Math Curriculum: Students learn concepts of number sense, place value, addition, subtraction, shapes, measurements, and problem solving.
nd Grade Math Curriculum: The Common Core Math concepts for 2nd grade include identification and comparison of whole numbers up to 1,000, addition and subtraction of 3-digit numbers, working with fractions, identifying and describing the properties of two and three dimensional shapes, as well as problems involving coins, bills and telling the time.
rd Grade Math Curriculum: The third grade Common Core Math program focuses on the concepts and skills required for multiplication and division of whole numbers and understanding fractions. Students learn strategies for using multiplication and division to solve real world math problems. Students are then able to explain why a formula works and why an answer is correct. They continue to learn and practice calculating quickly and accurately. Additionally, students learn concepts in measurement and interpreting data as well as about shapes and their attributes.
th Grade Math Curriculum: Students dive into place value, multiplication and division of two-digit numbers, fractions, decimals, and measurement. Students get daily repetition of mathematical concepts with the Simple Solutions program.
th Grade Math Curriculum: Fifth grade math focuses on adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing whole numbers, fractions and decimals. Students will become fluent with problem solving with these types of numbers and understanding the relationship between them. An emphasis is on math facts fluency, problem solving, and understanding place value, including decimals to the thousandths.
